Looking for a great eclipse app?

We found a great app with lots of planning and real-time information about the eclipse! Click on the banner below to go to a location where you can download it for yourself!
Please note that you will be leaving the eclipse2024.org website, and that we are not the developers or owners of this app in any way. We just really like it, and we think you will too!
(Please also note that we will receive a small commission from any in-app purchases that you make.)
Thank you for supporting Eclipse2024!

Will the eclipse be total where I am?

You have to be in the path!

Order Solar Eclipse Glasses, Made in USA

By this time, you know that you have to be in the path of totality in order to see totality. Here is a very rough map of the path so you can see if you’re close:

But what about if you want to know exactly? We have state and province maps that will show you a little more detail, but to be perfectly sure that you are in the path, you’ll want to consult a couple of sources:

Eclipse2024.org’s Interactive Google Map

Here is the place to start. The eclipse2024.org Interactive Google Map lets you click on any location, and pull up all the information we have on it. You'll be able to go to the Community Pages (coming soon!) for each town in our database, and see detailed eclipse information and animations for any location you want! Best of all, you'll also get a link to our 2024 eclipse simulator (coming soon!) for your selected location. The simulator will show you exactly what the eclipse will look like from any location! Don't miss it!

NASA’s Interactive map

NASA offers a great interactive map you can zoom in on, and click on your location. This will tell you for sure whether you’ll be able to see totality, and it will give you the circumstances (what time it happens, and lots of other info).

Xavier Jubier’s Interactive map

Xavier is one of the world’s leading eclipse calculation experts, and his interactive map goes even beyond NASA’s. Xavier offers edge effect corrections to the calculations, a real-time GPS connection so you don’t even have to click on the map, and terrain profiles so you can do your eclipse planning well in advance for any location! His site is highly recommended, and you should not consider planning any eclipse viewing without consulting it.

Eclipse2024.org’s pages for Communities in the Path and Local Circumstances

Eclipse2024.org offers a page for EVERY community that lies in the path of totality to post their eclipse viewing plans and information for FREE! As we learn of all the eclipse-viewing plans each community is offering, we will post it on these pages for you to consult, as you decide where you’d like to be on eclipse day! If the community has a page, it’s in the path!

We also offer tables of Local Circumstances for each city in the path, so you can see what time the eclipse happens for different locations in the path. You’ll also find links to eclipse animations that show the Moon’s progress across the face of the Sun, and even better – coming soon – an eclipse simulator that will show you what the eclipse will look like with breathtaking realism! Make sure you don’t miss the simulator!

Other Information on the Web

These resources, together with so many more that you can find on our Eclipse Links page, will help you know for sure that you are in the path and ready to go for totality on April 8, 2024!
