Introduction

At eclipse2017.org, it's all about giving YOU the information you need, in order to enjoy the total eclipse safely! And that includes bringing you all the stories, the history, the excitement and emotion that we can. Information about how to watch, where to watch, and just anything and everything eclipse-related!

But we don't expect you to just take OUR word for it! So, we've gotten with many of the world's leading experts on eclipses, and asked them the questions that many of you out there have brought to us. We've recorded interviews with each of these experts, and through some very meticulous editing, are bringing that information to you now in the form of a roundtable discussion. As the moderator, we will be providing some commentary and setup for each topic, and throwing our questions to the experts to hear their responses. You can simply read the responses to each question if you want (just hit the down arrow in each blue bar to expand that section's answer), or you can click on the sound icon in each blue bar to hear the response in their own voice!

Of course, it goes without saying that we have unfortunately not been able to include many, many other experts whose contributions would be equally welcomed - persons whose accomplishments, experience and knowledge would allow them to echo what you will experience below. Everyone simply could not be included, and so it is hoped that those very important members of the eclipse community (they know who they are!) will not feel themselves slighted in any way by our failure to have had enough time to include them! And of course, any list of names we might include here would simply cause others to be similarly slighted - so we will not try!

We hope you will learn something from this discussion, and that it will help you as you plan your eclipse viewing activities for August 21!

Clear Skies,
Dan McGlaun
