In March of 1970 I was a junior in high school. On March 7 I was scheduled to take my SAT tests, the same day much of S.E North America would be under the shadow. I knew that eclipse would include Virginia Beach and I was SO tempted to register to take the SATs at a Virginia Beach location. Alas, I did not and was treated to perhaps a 95% show at home further inland. As I recall Virginia Beach enjoyed the best weather in the Southeast that day. Don't plan to miss the 2017 event!
