In 1979 I was teaching physics and astronomy at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. Some faculty and I took a bus load of students to see the eclipse at Williston, ND. The students brought along cameras and telescopes. The day before was overcast but the sky cleared in the east in time for the 10 a.m. eclipse. It was a great eclipse; the students got some very good photos and I saw totality through a 3" refractor - very nice.
