Official Plans for viewing the eclipse from Charleston
Dark Year: Shifts in Understanding and Interpreting Eclipses in Early Modern and Colonial Times," a lecture by Charleston Southern University Associate Professor of History Dr. Nathan Martin. Martin will discuss the famed 1652 English eclipse and use it as a basis to explore how further eclipses and scientific events were understood. The lecture will be held 3pm-4pm on Sunday, August 20, at The Powder Magazine (79 Cumberland St., Charleston, SC 29401). The lecture is included with Powder Magazine admission.
