The Gering-Scottsbluff region is gearing up for the eclipse!

Saturday, August 19, 2017:

“The Night Sky” at Scottsbluff National Monument in Gering, NE

9:00 p.m. to 11:00 pm – A unique after dark event at the summit of Scotts Bluff National Monument at night; telescopes and program by astronomy professors to view the stars and constellations under Western Nebraska Night Skies

 

“Best of the West Eclipse Beer & Wine Festival” – Downtown Plaza in Scottsbluff, NE

4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Downtown Plaza is the venue to taste Wines & Craft Brews from across the region, live entertainment and food booths with “eclipsed-themed” activities.

 

Sunday, August 20, 2017:

“Moon Over the Monument Welcome Event” at Five Rocks Amphitheater in Gering, NE

4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Pre-Event for Eclipse Day at the outdoor amphitheater; interpretive story tellers in costume, food trucks showcasing ethnics cuisines from the area (Mexican, Greek, German foods); ethnic dancers and singers will perform for residents and visitors.  Admission is FREE.

 

Monday, August 21, 2017:

“Moon Over the Monument” Eclipse Day in Gering & Scottsbluff, NE

Three designated viewing venues; Five Rocks Amphitheater in Gering, Legacy of the Plains Museum in Gering and Landers Soccer Fields in Scottsbluff.  Venues open at 8:00 a.m.; Official and FREE Eclipse glasses to everyone through the gates; live radio remotes and food booths lead up to the Great American Eclipse of 2017!
